Australian Consumer Law
My services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Among them: that the work is done with due care and skill, that it is fit for the purpose I was told about, and that it is delivered within a reasonable time where no time was agreed.
For a major failure you are entitled to cancel the service contract and get a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure is not major, you are entitled to have the problem fixed within a reasonable time.
The policy below is in addition to those rights, not instead of them. Where anything below is less generous than the law, the law wins.
If I have done the work badly, tell me. Under the Australian Consumer Law and under my own terms, a defect is fixed at no charge first. If it cannot be fixed, or the failure is major, you are entitled to the remedies the law provides. This policy does not shorten that list. If you and I cannot agree, Consumer Affairs Victoria at consumer.vic.gov.au is the place to take it.
