Four sections: what Google and AI answer engines can read, who the page links to and cites, whether a visitor can act, and whether the page is well kept. Every failed check comes with a one-sentence fix. Read it here, or have it emailed to you.

It reads what your site publishes. It does not ask ChatGPT anything.
Or
Read-only. It fetches your page, robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap once each, and touches nothing.
The boundary

What this tool does not do.

It does not query ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Copilot or Claude. It never asks an engine whether you appear. It reads what your site publishes, which is the part you control and the part every engine reads first.

It does not count your backlinks. That needs a paid link index. The backlink work measures them: who links to you, who links to your competitors and not to you, and which to go after first.

It does not crawl your site. One page, plus three files at the root of your domain. The rest of the site is not checked.

It does not measure rankings, traffic or conversions. Those need your Search Console and your analytics, and nobody should hand those to a free tool. With your permission, I can go through them with you on a free 20-minute call.

It does not run JavaScript. It sees the HTML your server sends, the same way most AI crawlers do. If your page is empty until a script runs, this tool will say so, and so will they.

The four sections

What each section checks.

Written in plain words for the site owner. Every line has a one-sentence fix, so the developer gets instructions and you can check they were done.

1
SEO + AEO, 21 checks What search and answer engines read before deciding whether to cite you: HTTPS, title, description, canonical, noindex, language, one H1, question-shaped H2s, structured data (including FAQ and who-you-are markup), viewport, word count, a direct answer under the heading, image alt text, internal links, robots.txt, AI crawler access, llms.txt and the sitemap.
2
Links and citations, 6 checks Whether the page cites anyone and whether anyone can tell who you are: links out to government, university or journal sources, sources named in the text, sameAs profiles in the markup, an About or author page, a resources or answers section in the menu, and the name, address and phone printed on the page. Backlink counts need a paid index and are part of the backlink work.
3
CRO, 11 checks Whether a ready visitor can act: a tap-to-call number, a form or contact link, a call to action in the first screen, a visible price, an address, trust signals in the text, page weight, server response time, how many other companies load scripts on your page, a cookie wall, and how many fields the form asks for.
4
Design, 7 checks Whether the page is well kept: three fonts or fewer, twelve inline colours or fewer, images that declare their size so the page does not jump, heading levels that do not skip, no wall-of-text paragraphs, a favicon, and share tags so a link to the page shows a picture.

After the score

What to do next, and what it costs.

01
Most fails on this list are an afternoon's work.

A title, a description, a canonical, a share image and a viewport tag are each one line of HTML. Email yourself the report and forward it to whoever built the site.

02
A blocked crawler or a missing sitemap is a bigger conversation.

Those usually come from a host or plug-in setting. The fix is small. It is worth checking what else that setting changed.

A high score and no enquiries means the problem is not on this list.

This tool reads one page and three files. It cannot see your backlinks, your Search Console, your analytics, your conversion path or what an engine actually says when someone asks for a clinic near them. The packages cover all of those, from A$2,900 a month + GST.

The paid half

Common questions about the tool.

Does this tool ask ChatGPT or Google whether my site appears?

No. It reads what your site publishes: the page itself, robots.txt, llms.txt and the sitemap. That is the half of AI visibility you control. Whether an engine actually cites you is the other half, and checking that properly means running real buying prompts across five engines with dated screenshots, which is what the Answer Engine Audit does.

Is a low score a problem?

Usually it is a list of cheap fixes rather than a crisis. A missing meta description, a relative share image or a blocked crawler each take minutes to fix once someone knows they are there. A low score on a site that already ranks means the ranking is carrying the site despite the basics.

Why can it not count my backlinks?

Counting the sites that link to you needs a paid link index, which costs money per query, so it is not part of the free check. The backlink work measures them properly: which sites link to you, which link to your competitors and not to you, and which to go after first.

Do you keep the URLs people check?

Not unless you ask for the report by email. The check itself runs, the result is sent back to your browser, and nothing is stored beyond a short-lived count per visitor. If you enter an email to receive the report, that email, the URL and the report are stored so the report can be sent and so a reply is possible.

Why does it refuse some addresses?

It only fetches public websites over http or https on the standard ports. Anything that resolves to a private or internal network, anything on an unusual port, and anything that redirects more than three times is refused, because a tool that fetches arbitrary addresses on request has to be careful about what it is pointed at.
