About

An actuary who builds the software.

I find where a business is losing time and money, put a defensible number on it, and build the system that fixes it. One person, start to finish.

Most consultants advise and leave you to find someone to build it. Most builders build what they are told, without asking whether it earns. I sit in the rare overlap.

I trained as an actuary, which means I spent years inside one of the most demanding qualification paths in the professional world: exam after exam built on probability, statistics, risk and finance. It rewires how you think. You stop seeing single answers and start seeing distributions, downside, and the few decisions that actually move the outcome. It is the discipline large companies pay whole risk and pricing teams to hold.

Then I spent eight years building production software. C# and ASP.NET, advanced SQL Server, advanced R, cloud on AWS and Azure, and AI woven through the core. Not slideware. Real systems that run, with users and revenue behind them. I took three products from a blank file to deployed on my own: Zyro, an attribution and CRO engine with a production AI layer; Scoutr, an orchestrated-AI marketing platform: a seven-stage agent pipeline that runs every night, reconstructs the buyer from real public language, tests campaigns against that buyer before any spend, ships them across six connected platforms with brand-safety guardrails, and compounds on the results; and BetBetter, a sports analytics platform modelled from scratch.

The mind that prices the risk and the hands that ship the fix are the same person.

That combination is the whole point. I can walk into a business, find where the money and time are leaking, model what a fix is actually worth, and then build it and wire it into the systems you already run. No handoff between a strategist who cannot code and a developer who was not in the room. No junior team learning on your budget. One accountable person carrying it the whole way through.

I have done it for emergency veterinary groups, luxury retail, hospitality, fragrance and specialist ecommerce. The work ranges from pricing strategy and payroll reconciliation to SEO, marketing automation and full AI builds. What stays constant is the approach: go into the mess, surface the truth, and point everything at the number that matters.

What I bring

Two skill sets that rarely live in one person.

The judgement of a risk-trained analyst and the output of a senior engineer, without the headcount.

The mind · actuarial

Trained to price risk and quantify the uncertain.

I turn messy, incomplete data into defensible numbers your finance team will accept, model what happens before you commit a dollar, and find the few decisions that move the result.

Probabilistic modelling Risk & pricing Statistical analysis Financial modelling Forecasting
The hands · engineering

And the ability to actually ship it.

Eight years of production systems and three products built solo. I build the working system that captures the value, in the languages and cloud you already run, with no technical debt left behind.

How I work

A few things I hold to.

01

Money first, honestly

Every recommendation points at a number. If it does not hold up, I tell you before you spend on it.

02

Systems, not documents

The deliverable is something that runs and keeps running, not a strategy deck that dies in a drive folder.

03

Guardrails, not science projects

AI gets scoped, guardrailed and governed before it ships. I build into what you already use, within your security and data rules, so your team keeps working the way they do.

04

One name on the work

You always know exactly who is accountable. It is me, the whole way through.

Let's find what's working against you.

Tell me what's slow, leaking, manual or guessed-at. I'll tell you straight whether I can build something worth it.
